I write when something is worth saying.
That's not as often as most people post on LinkedIn or other social media, and that's fine. Most of what I write about comes from something I actually experienced: a team that surprised me, a decision I got wrong, a student who finally nailed the shot they'd been chasing for weeks. The topics bounce between technology leadership, building teams, and teaching photography. Not because I'm trying to cover everything. Because those things are genuinely connected in my head and I haven't found a clean way to separate them. If something here is useful to you, great.
Fiction
Alongside the essays, I write science fiction at read.redsneaker.net. Serials and short stories. The tone runs from hard sci-fi to comedy depending on the day. Current projects include Area 52½, a seven-chapter serial about a classified government installation that Area 51 quietly declined to keep, and The Grape in the Machine, about a dead IT director hired by the afterlife's tech support department. If the essays here are how I think about work, the fiction is how I think about everything else.
