- What you need is a prime lens with manual aperture ring.
- You can purchase an adapter to mount your lens backwards on your camera or you can see similar results by holding the lens up against a prime lens mounted traditionally on your camera. Either way, you will see a similar effect.
- Either way, focusing is controlled by moving closer or further away from the subject.
- Open the aperture on the lens all the way so it is wide open.
OK, so these aren’t stupid necessarily, but they are not always tips suggested in books or online videos. Reversing a lens makes for a strong macro lens.
